Hello everyone. I am putting this fundraiser together to help my brother-in-law Jimmie Hartwig as he battles Cancer. 
Jimmie has had a sore throat for a couple weeks and decided to get it checked out by his physician. His physician noted ulcerations on his tonsils and on the base of his tongue. Jimmie was quickly sent to an ENT where biopsies were collected from these suspicious areas. Tuesday April 3rd Jimmie received a call from the ENT provider with the results. Jimmie was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. This is an aggressive cancer and the prognosis is dependent on if the cancer has metastasized to any other areas. Jimmie will be headed to Mayo Clinic on Monday to have 3-5 days of medical tests that will determine the treatment course. 
Let me tell you a bit about Jimmie. Jimmie is 61 years old and shares 2 children, Colton age 7 and Cadence age 11 with my sister. Jimmie also has an adult son named Travis who is married to Rebecca and they have a 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son. Jimmie is a great dad and loves his children and grandchildren to no end. I think he is so great with the kids, because he still is a bit of a kid himself. He loves to be silly and has never ending energy. His family always comes first and he loves to tell everyone and anyone about how wonderful they are. Jimmie is an extremely hard worker, and he has worked for Mastey Enterprises for many years. Jimmie does have health insurance, but does not have any disability coverage or paid time off from his employer. Jimmie has exhausted his sick leave taking care of his daughter Cadence after she was diagnosed with Crohns disease in the last couple years, and the colds, strep throat and COVID that has gone through the house in the last several months. Jimmie is the kind of guy that will drop whatever he is doing to help a friend in need. He is optimistic and enjoys the little things in life. 
We don’t know how long Jimmie will be out of work and without an income. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go towards medical and medical related bills to help Jimmie during his fight.
