Hello dear friends and community,

I’m reaching out because I’ve reached a serious breaking point. After a year defined by loss—losing my job, a traumatic breakup, the death of a chosen family member, and navigating ongoing chronic illness and disability—I am now facing the immediate threat of eviction from the home that has been my sanctuary.

My name is Jimmi (they/them). I am white, multiply disabled, a student, a social worker, an artist and musician, community and mutual aid organizer, and a dedicated neighbor. For almost two years, my studio apartment has been the place where I’ve finally been able to begin healing my nervous system from lifelong CPTSD. Losing this space wouldn't just mean losing a roof; it would jeopardize my health, my ability to care for my two sweet angel dogs that are family to me, and my ability to finish my education that would support me in breaking this cycle of financial crisis and struggle.

The Path Forward
Despite the hardships of the last year, there is a light at the end of the tunnel:

Education: I return to school this June to complete my Masters of Social Work (MSW). This degree is my ticket to accessible, meaningful employment and more stability
The Goal: I need to bridge the gap between now and March (when my tax return arrives) and June (when student aid starts).

The Surgery: My gender-affirming top surgery is a crucial need. I had to postpone it in December due to financial instability, but securing my housing is the first step toward getting a new date on the books.

Where Your Donations Will Go
I have exhausted every local rental assistance program, only to find their funds depleted. As a queer and trans person estranged from my family of origin, my community is my only safety net.

My goal is to raise $8,000 to cover:

$2,800: Overdue rent + late fees (to stop the eviction process immediately).

$2,600: Rent for February and March.

$1,100: Repayment to a friend who covered my November rent.

$500: Essential utilities (Phone/Internet/Insurance/Laundry) to keep me connected to school updates and job applications.
*my phone is currently disconnected and I can only use it on wifi which is an urgent need

How You Can Help
Whether it’s $5 or $50, every cent goes directly toward keeping a disabled, trans student housed and on the path to serving others as a social worker.

If you cannot donate, please share this link. Word of mouth is the most powerful tool I have.

I have spent 20 years in the service industry, but my body can no longer sustain that work. I am so close to a stable career in social work—I just need your help to get through this final, difficult stretch.

Thank you for seeing me, supporting me, and helping to keep me safe. I love you all.
