Jimi is a medium build chocolate mixed breed pup who is approximately 1 year old. Jimi’s journey has been anything but easy. He was first spotted wandering the streets, scared and alone, avoiding anyone who tried to help. My sister, Griffin, spent weeks gaining his trust, providing him food and water, and inching closer each day. He was first spotted wandering the streets, scared and alone, avoiding anyone who tried to help. My sister, Griffin, spent weeks gaining his trust, providing him food and water, and inching closer each day. When Jimi didn’t show up over Thanksgiving weekend, she realized he must have been collected by PAWS. She called the animal shelter and learned that Jimi was in fact there, and was doing very poorly. He was terrified and being boarded separately than the other dogs because of his tremendous fear. She could not bear to leave him in those circumstances, realizing he was not likely to be adopted unless he learned how to trust. she brought him into her home and has been fostering him ever since, diligently making efforts towards securing a permanent home for him, and helping him rehabilitate from his life experiences.
Caring for Jimi has been a labor of love, but it’s also come with unexpected expenses. He’s already been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated for rabies. He is receiving the daily care he needs, but now they are facing new challenges. It has been the family’s goal to have Jimi adopted prior to a longstanding planned vacation at the end of April. Despite efforts in the community and widespread contact with rescues, there is still no plan in place for Jimi. Griffin and her family are willing to continue to foster Jimi when they return home from their trip. In the meantime, Jimi needs a safe place to stay. He also requires vaccinations before he can be boarded. Blissful K9, the dog trainer and boarder, has verified that he would be available to board Jimi while the family is away. We believe that they can provide Jimi with the care and attention he deserves. If we’re able to raise enough, Jimi might even begin a training relationship that could help him find his forever home. Having Jimi boarded during the family’s planned time away will certainly buy him more time in a safe and loving foster home and increases his chances of eventual adoption.
We want nothing more than for Jimi to be happy, healthy, and safe. Your support will help us get him through this next hump and give him the best chance at a bright future. Any contribution, big or small, will make a real difference in Jimi’s journey to a loving home. Thank you for helping us help Jimi!
