Help Jim Take His Next Step After a Horrific Fall
Donation protected
Everyone who knows Jim Anderson knows that he loves people. He has faithfully served others throughout his life, starting with the Peace Corps and then for 15 years as a missionary in Guinea, West Africa, with his wife, Dawn, and their three kids. Jim and Dawn now coach and mentor global workers with Ripe for Harvest.
Jim loves biking, fly fishing, tying flies, creating amazing things out of wood, deep conversations, camping and being “Papa” to his three granddaughters. He is a jokester and laughs easily.
On Oct. 11, Jim took a wrong step and tumbled down his basement stairs. He had six fractured vertebrae and a 7-hour surgery that placed a rod in his spine. Thankfully, the spinal cord was intact. However, Jim has no feeling from the rib cage down. Each spinal cord injury is unique, but he has a long road of rehabilitation ahead.
The NEXT STEP for Jim’s rehabilitation and recovery is to get him home – and a Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) is to make their home accessible so they don't have to move. This will require multiple adaptations to the house, including adding an accessible bathroom. The estimated cost of this BHAG is $30,000 for the remodel and other adaptive aids.
Please consider contributing to change Jim’s life for the better – and give him agency as he fights this devastating injury.
Every little bit helps. Any money raised beyond the remodel cost will go to Jim’s medical expenses, which are sizable, even with insurance.
Jim’s life’s work has been serving others, and now we want to serve him.
