Hi, my name is Jason O’Neill and I am starting this fundraiser for my dad, Jim O’Neill. He is a proud father to my sister Jennifer and me, and he often says we are the greatest joys of his life. Many of you also know him from his long involvement in water polo as a player, coach, official, and organizer. He has spent much of his life serving his community, mentoring young athletes, and supporting others through teamwork and commitment.

My dad is currently living with serious health conditions that have completely changed his life, taking away his independence, his mobility, and at times his hope. He has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF) and a serious aortic condition. However, his most debilitating condition is his back. He suffers from severe degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. Much of his lumbar spine has deteriorated, leaving him in constant and overwhelming pain. Despite working closely with many doctors, his conditions have worsened and the pain has steadily become unbearable. He is now unable to walk and relies on a wheelchair. Chronic pain and loss of mobility have taken a heavy physical and emotional toll, but he remains committed to doing everything he can to manage his health and move forward.

His health conditions have prevented him from working for quite some time, and his only income is Social Security disability. Our family has been very supportive and we have helped in every way we can. However, our own resources are being stretched as we continue to help cover my dad’s needs, which is why I am reaching out for additional support. Donations will help with medical expenses not covered by insurance, mobility equipment, transportation to appointments, and basic living necessities.
