Help Jim McNulty Keep His Home and Independence

Donation protected
This is Jim McNulty — a 66 year old military veteran and lifelong member of the Jackson community. Jim has spent his entire life showing up for friends and family without asking for anything in return. Today, he is the one who needs help.

Over the past few years, Jim has fought through one devastating medical crisis after another. A stroke and multiple embolisms stole his strength, his independence, and eventually, his left leg. In 2025, Jim endured an amputation above the knee — a life‑altering blow made even harder by the fact that he is not a candidate for a prosthetic. Because of the physical toll of his health battles, Jim is now permanently wheelchair‑bound.

Despite everything, Jim has faced each challenge with courage and humility. To help him simply access his bathroom safely and preserve a small piece of independence, his home had to be renovated for handicap accessibility. The doorway was widened, and the bathroom redesigned so he could meet the most basic human needs with dignity.

But in the midst of all this hardship, another burden fell on Jim — one he never saw coming.

The contractor hired to complete the renovations failed to properly verify Jim’s income during the loan application. The work was done, but the lender later denied the loan. Now the contractor has placed an $11,500 lien on Jim’s home — the home filled with memories, pride, and the last bit of stability he has left.

Jim is facing the heartbreaking possibility of losing his home through no fault of his own.

We are asking for help to lift this weight off his shoulders. Our goal is to raise enough funds to pay off the lien and ensure that Jim can continue living safely in the home he knows and loves.

If you can give, please do. If you can share this post, that helps too. Every contribution is a lifeline.

Thank you for helping us protect Jim’s home, his dignity, and his peace of mind during the toughest chapter of his life.
