Help Jim & Marsha with unexpected life expenses

We want to start by thanking those of you who have already donated from the bottom of our hearts. Without your help, Jim and Marsha would not have been able to survive financially over these last few months.

To say this has been a challenging year for Jim, Marsha, and our family would be an understatement. This year, Jim has had multiple hospital visits, a diagnose of both diabetes and stage IV bladder cancer, he has lost the ability to work, and, due to this loss of income, him and Marsha have had to find immediate housing as they are unable to stay at the home they are renting.

Jim’s initial treatment plan is almost complete, but, as much as it pains us to say this, it is far from over. On August 23, 2021, Jim underwent another surgery. While at the hospital, Jim had a CT scan to see the progress of his first round of chemotherapy. There was a small shrinkage to the existing cancer and no new growth. Jim is in the process of moving to a new chemotherapy treatment regimen based on these results.

Regardless of these challenges or what our next steps will be, our family has and will continue to band together, with the help of our friends, to get through this challenging time with high spirits and positivity. The biggest contributor of this positivity radiates from Jim.

Jim is the pillar that holds this family together. He is our sounding board, voice of reason, devoted husband, loyal friend, nurturing father, loving grandfather, and, to Marsha and Melissa’s great benefit, even master fashionista (this man has impeccable taste!). No matter where he has been in his own life, he has, without question, come to the aid of those who were in need. Either by offering advice, lending his jack-of-all- trade’s skill set to help with a job, or if he himself was unable to help, he would reach out to a personal contact to make sure they received help by proxy.

Even after all the chemotherapy sessions, the many hospital visits, the days when the pain seemed to never cease, and the selling off of his most prized possessions to make ends meet, possessions that are the compilation of his life’s work, Jim’s positive remains unwavering. He smiles through the pain and chooses to see the good in what life has to offer every single day. The continued strength of both him and Marsha, who has still been working a 40+ hour week plus taking care of her elderly mother, is amazing and unyielding.

As a family, we want to provide financial support to both Jim and Marsha as they endeavor further into Jim’s treatment. This is not something we can do on our own, as much as we wish we could. We need the help of you, our friends, to elevate the heavy financial burden that Jim and Marsha are and will continue to carry in the upcoming months.
