Help Jim & Marlaine: Costly Home Repairs

Hi, my name is Kay Lynn Davenport. Pastor Jim Mayher and his wife Marlaine are dear friends of mine. Three years ago, Jim came to the hospital to pray with my husband, daughter, and me as my husband was dying of sepsis and pancreatic cancer. Then, he helped me plan my husband's memorial service, he hosted the service, and he supported me through GriefShare. I am now privileged to serve alongside Pastor Jim in the Care Ministry at church, and I am so grateful for his servant's heart!

Please help me help the helpers - Jim and Marlaine - as they are experiencing a major home repair emergency!!! Unfortunately, these repairs are not covered by insurance!!! My goal is to raise $45,000, although the running total is currently about $52,000!!! Any amount you contribute will help!!!

Here are the Details from Marlaine & Jim:

• We found out about 3 weeks ago that we have had two water leaks underneath our (mobile) home for quite some time (months)

• The water remediation folks removed everything in the main part of our house, ripped up the floors, and started the fans and dehumidifiers

• We moved into a hotel for three nights, ‘til the plumber could get the leaks fixed

• So – the kitchen is gone – cabinets and island have been taken out

• The living room, dining room, and den furniture are in storage; and we’re walking on the subfloor

The Worst Part:

• Turns out that the leaks were caused by rodents

• We have two home warranties, plus – of course – homeowners’ insurance; but none of them will cover this, as it was caused by ‘wildlife’

We have obtained quotes; and it looks like we will be on the hook for over $50,000- for the cost of repairs, wildlife remediation, dislocation costs, storage, etc.
