My name is Jim Petras, and I live in Cleveland Heights, OH. I am preparing to run the NYC Marathon, and I am asking for your support to help me get there! Scroll down to learn about my running journey.
With fall 2019 around the corner, I set a goal to run a 5k before my 30th birthday. As a life-long asthmatic, this would be no small accomplishment. Even though I did some preparation, I worried that I'd be left in the dust by other runners. When I got to the event, I was surprised to find a very supportive group with runners at all levels. It was such a positive experience that I kept training. Before the end of the year, I ran two additional events and then a half marathon. While I've successfully run a few races, every new race is still a challenge. This year I am preparing to take on my biggest challenge yet, a full marathon. With a record-breaking 185,000 applications submitted, I was among those selected for the 50th NYC Marathon. Consider supporting me as I work towards running this event!
