Help Jim Garrett Overcome Cancer and Hardship
Donation protected
Hi, everyone. Meet Jim Garrett. If you don’t know him, let me take a moment to try and describe him in this very small box provided in front of me. Jim is incredibly dedicated to all of his friends, works hard and, if you have had the pleasure of knowing him, he’s always the first to have you laughing whether the joke be inappropriate or not, is another story for another time. This man loves deeply and will drop everything to drive 4 hours just to make sure his friends are driven home safely. He has the biggest heart.
As of May 2024, Jim was diagnosed with Double Hit Large Lymphoma. The mass was over 6 inches in length and equally that in width. The chemotherapy that he has been undergoing is one of the most intensive forms that can be prescribed.
With this particular form of cancer, patients can be given as little as 5 years survival rate. The good news is that it has not spread and is not attached to any organs.
Jim has been on light duty not knowing how often or for how long he can work. He’s worked 5 days in the last 2 months. He started off feeling fairly full of energy and not in much pain but as he has just finished his second round of chemo, he has found himself to feel quite weak, tired and frequently uncomfortable and in pain.
As of now, Jim is realizing that the hope we had for him to be able to use his energy to perform at work on a semi-regular basis will now need to be completely brought to a halt as his immunocompromised situation has left him in a much more vulnerable position. He will now be out of work until October 2024 while he adjusts to this new “normal” and focus solely on treatments, rest and healing.
With now being unable to work, the medical expenses continue to pour in along with living expenses in general.
Jim is kind, thoughtful and most importantly, strong. If you feel moved to do so, please consider helping support Jim in winning this battle and donate. Anything would be an absolute Godsend. If anyone deserves it, it’s Jim. Thank you so much in advance for the outpouring of love, calls, texts and prayers. He is not going down without of a fight!
