Last night September 11, 2025 my parents Jim and Gail experienced a devastating house fire at their home in Clio, Michigan, where they have lived for 40 years. Thankfully, they are both safe, but the house is a total loss their two beloved cats were in the house one was able to escape however one wasn't able to get out.

The fire has left their home unlivable, and Jim and Gail now need immediate help with temporary housing and replacing basic essentials. Unfortunately they did not have home owners insurance. My dad is a retired teacher who has spent his life helping others, and my stepmom is a homemaker who finds joy in running road races. They have lost so much in just a few hours, and the road ahead will be challenging as they work to rebuild and recover.
