Hi Everyone, Jim’s family here :) Many of you know him as a Laguna native and local. Many of you know him for his beautiful construction work on homes around the town. You may have seen him loving life on Brooks street breaks. Or chasing us kids around the beach making sure we don’t dive head first into the undertow. Either way, he’s been known and loved as the true epitome of a Laguna surfer, father and husband.
After a pretty rad life of lots of hard work and many waves, our Dad was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer. It is very aggressive. Debilitating his vibrant personality, body and will day by day. The doctors have given him an optimistic 6 months or so. He wants to go home very badly. Not attached to a sterile hospital environment and loved ones by his side. Unfortunately, his insurance does not cover at home care. Deb, his wife will be by his side as often as she can with a nurse to help when she isn’t able. We want to bring him home to give him the peace he deserves and is asking for in his final days. We appreciate everyone greatly and your time reading this. When the time comes, hopefully we will see you out in a circle of boards so we can say goodbye at his favorite spot. ❤️
