I am Eileen, mother-in-law to Jim. Jim is a father, husband, son, and coworker to many. He serves every day protecting as a law enforcement officer. Not everyone knows Jim’s story, and he is definitely not one to ask for help. Jim was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 8 years old, and after many years, it finally took over his kidneys. It hit his family like a whirlwind. It felt like overnight, they found out Jim was in stage 4 kidney failure only in his early 30s, with a transplant in the very near future. Melissa jumped into action for her husband, making sure he had everything he needed to keep him off dialysis before a transplant was available. Well, after his mother donated her kidney in September, moving him to the top of the living donor list, his day is here. He was successfully transplanted January 21st. After all this started, Jim finally gets a new start on life with a new kidney. While Jim and Melissa would do anything for anyone, I am here to ask you to help them in their time of need. Jim will be out of work while healing, and Melissa will also be out of work caring for Jim after his transplant and taking care of their two daughters. Melissa, unfortunately, does not get paid if she does not work. This will take a huge financial strain on their household. With two young daughters, a cold winter ahead, and many medical bills, anything to help this family would be greatly appreciated. Let us give this family the gift of relief, not having to worry about bills, just focusing on recovery and prayers for the journey ahead of them all.
