Help Jim and Lorna Heal After Tragic Accident
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
My name is Amber Garner, and I’m reaching out on behalf of a family who means the world to me. I’ve been best friends with Carlie Staff (Pierson) for most of my life, sharing countless adventures—camping trips, road trips, bonfires, and sleepovers. The Piersons have always been known for their 'work hard, play hard' attitude, and they are some of the most fun, genuine people I know.
Tragically, on May 4th, 2025, Carlie’s dad, Jim Pierson, was in a serious motorcycle accident in St. Francis. He swerved to avoid a dog crossing the street and lost control, colliding with a tree. While we are incredibly grateful that Jim survived, his injuries are extensive, and the road to recovery will be long and challenging.
Heartbreakingly, this comes less than 10 months after the family lost their beloved wife and mother, Kelly, also to a motorcycle accident. Just as they were beginning to heal from that unimaginable loss, they are now facing another life-altering event. It’s simply not fair.
Jim’s journey ahead will involve significant medical expenses, ongoing physical therapy, and possibly in-home care support as he recovers.
If you know Jim, you know he’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. A former firefighter, Jim has dedicated his life to helping others, always there to lend a hand without expecting anything in return. He is strong, selfless, and fiercely independent, and asking for help is not in his nature—but now, he needs us.
Out of respect for the family's privacy, I won’t be sharing detailed medical updates unless they give the go-ahead.
Jim also had a passenger during the accident—Lorna Erickson. She, too, is receiving medical care and will need additional support as she recovers.
Please consider donating to help cover the medical costs and support services that Jim and Lorna will undoubtedly need. Let’s surround them with love, prayers, and generosity, and help lift some of the burden they’re facing.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
