Help Jim and Ellen Harris as Jim Fights Lung Cancer

Update 2/2/2025 - This is incredibly difficult to write so I will just say this simply - Jim's oncologist has given him 2-4 weeks left to live. Ellen is by his side, doing everything she can to make him comfortable between frequent trips to the ER. She wanted me to express her gratitude for all of the love, support, and kindness everyone has shared. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Julie Kahn, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my dear friends, Jim and Ellen Harris.

Ellen has been my best friend since middle school, and I’ve known Jim since they started dating back in the 90s. Over the years, I’ve witnessed their love and strength as they’ve faced life’s blessings (their awesome son Sam) and challenges together.

For the past eight years, Jim Harris has been courageously battling lung cancer, facing every challenge with strength and resilience! Recently, Jim endured 3 ½ weeks in the hospital, grappling with severe side effects from the radiation treatment he underwent years ago. While his determination remains steadfast, the mounting medical bills and the strain of his extended hospitalizations have placed a heavy burden on him and his family.

As I write this GoFundMe page, I found out they are back in the ER today!

Ellen has been by his side every step of the way, offering love and support during this massively stressful time. However, the demands of caregiving have made it impossible for Ellen to work, further adding to their financial challenges.
