2021 - 5 years after getting diagnosed with cancer

Jim Allen is very dear family friend. He is a true gentleman who has touched our hearts with his kindness, compassion and generous spirit. Jim is a man of faith who actually walks the talk.

On the day before Jim was scheduled to donate a kidney for a friend, he unexpectedly began hemorrhaging blood. Rushed to E.R., his favorable pre-donor medical screening was changed, in a blink of an eye, to Colon/Rectal cancer which now has metastasized to stage 4 cancer with 3 tumors on his liver and 4 on his lung.

Jim is nearly destitute living solely on social security. A business partner embezzlement bankrupted his company and caused Jim to lose everything.

Jim is being treated at Kaiser Permanente, where Dr. Vida Jahangiri is cautiously optimistic for his recovery. He's gone through 5 surgeries and 2 liver biopsies so far. Kaiser will help cover most of the chemo therapy and tumor operations; but there are still a lot of uncovered medical expenses to pay for.
