Our family is going through a very difficult and unexpected time. Jill, my 73-year-old Grammy, bravely fought tongue cancer last year and endured a traumatic surgery and long recovery, one she is still recovering from each day. We hoped she was slightly moving forward, but recently learned that the cancer has now spread to her neck.

Throughout the entirety of 2025, she has been dealing with the aftermath of her agonizing surgery facing daily challenges. This has included difficulty eating and speaking, constant pain, and the emotional toll of losing something as basic as enjoying food, something she completely lost. Receiving the news that cancer has now been found in her neck has been devastating, both emotionally and financially, adding another layer to an already exhausting and painful journey.

The medical bills, treatments, and ongoing care have become overwhelming, and the stress is taking a heavy toll as our family works to support her through this next chapter.

Both of my grandparents, Jill and Bill, have always been the kind of people who constantly give and care to others and never ask for help themselves. Creating this fundraiser was not an easy decision, and I am not even sure they would feel comfortable with it—but I know how much this support could help ease the burden and allow them to focus on her health, comfort, and healing.
