Thank you for visiting my fundraiser! Any interaction or support is greatly appreciated.
I’m Jillian and I have been battling multiple chronic illnesses the past few years. So far my confirmed diagnosis are Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Long COVID. POTS is a type of dysautonomia that mainly affects heart rate and blood pressure pressure due to low blood volume. Changing positions or staying in upright positions for extended periods can cause a racing heart rate (tachycardia) and low blood pressure. For me these changes in BP and HR often cause dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, fatigue, loss of vison, and blood pooling in my limbs. POTS also affects other body systems like digestion, breathing, and sweating. POTS makes it very difficult for me to be upright for extended periods and often causes me to be bed bound. More information on Dysautonomia and POTS
Long COVID is an umbrella term for post viral illnesses that developed after a COVID-19 infection. COVID caused my conditions to be so severe I cannot work in any capacity. COVID is known to cause or worsen existing dysautonomia and could have damaged some of my organs. After having COVID even mild exertion can cause flu like symptoms and migraines that can take days to weeks to recover from. I am going to see a genetic specialist in February to see if I have a genetic condition that is the root cause of my health issues. My initial appointment with this specialist is expected to be at least $2,000 because they do not accept my insurance. Unfortunately this is the only specialist in the state that can properly diagnose me with this condition, so I have no choice but to pay out of pocket to see them. Getting this diagnosis is essential in getting treatment that I desperately need. I have been unable to work in any capacity for over a year now and will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future. Living off one income with constantly increasing medical bills has put a huge strain on our finances. I am in need of adaptive equipment to make my home more comfortable and better fit to my medical needs. I am also trying to save money to get a medical alert service dog in the next couple of years which we are expecting to cost about $30,000 for training, equipment, and general care. We are hoping to raise $10,000-$15,000 to help get us caught up on medical expenses and for future medical needs. Thank you again for taking the time to check out my fundraiser!
Since Gofundme takes a portion of donations I am trying to raise money through Venmo as well. If you feel comfortable donating through Venmo my tag is @J_bug.
