Help Jillian & Her 5 Kids Recover from Toxic Mold

My name is Aubree Steen, FNTP. I'm a functional nutritionist and practitioner who help clients identify gut infections, toxic burden, and root causes for their chornic health conditions.

There are clients I get here and there who are completely debilitated by their health condition, but due to financial struggles/hardships, can't even afford appointments or the care they need to get better.

Jillian popped out to me with her incredible story. She was exposed to the Stachbotrys black mold - the one toxic mold that is known to cause severe health injury, and even in the worst cases, although rare circusmtances, death. Jillian is an amazing women who has given everything to try to get her and her family to heal, but keeps getting set back (or not even a chance to move forward) due to the inability to afford treatment. It's my goal to help support her. The funds here will be applied to appointments, IV therapy, supplements, prescriptions, alternative modalities that improve care (acupuncture, physical therapy), and more.

Here's her story from Jillian herself:

"I’m a stay at home mom of 5 that homeschools. My husband & I have been married for 14 years & we were finally able to buy our first house 2 years ago when I was pregnant with our 5th baby. When we first moved in I started having extreme anxiety, neuropathy in my arms & legs, & had really bad headaches. I thought it was just because of my pregnancy. Fast forward 2 months after having her, I wasn’t feeling much better but only worse. My eyes started to bother me, like my vision was going out & I had pressure behind them. My brain fog was like nothing I had ever had before. I felt like I couldn’t remember anything & was forgetting everything. When I started to not remember how to spell my sons name I knew it was time to start getting looked at. I had my vision looked at & it came back fine. Which it didn’t feel that way. I had an MRI done & everything came back normal. I started to see a naturopath & we worked on my symptoms, but nothing was really working. About a couple months later our oldest, she was 12 at the time started loosing her vision in her left side of her eye. She was later diagnosed with drusens in her eyes & daily headaches. Her vision came back but she now has the daily headaches & migraines. A couple months after that our 4th started having really bad stomach problems. He was born with a bad gut but with the naturopaths help we were able to heal his belly & he was living a normal life. But all the sudden he was having a really bad flare that wasn’t going away. My naturopath then suggested we look into our environment. This was about 14 months after we had been living in our home. We thought that it was our swamp cooler because the framing around it wasn’t very “water” friendly. My doctor tested me & the mold came back extremely high in my system. So myself & my 5 kids stayed out of the house & lived with a friend & her 2 daughters for about 3 months while my husband stayed to take care of our animals as we live on 9 acres. We had our house tested & it came back with the same mold I had in my system. Our insurance paid to have our swamp cooler area fixed & we got our house fogged. We moved back in & the house just still didn’t feel right like the mold wasn’t gone. We contacted the company that came to fog our home but he was not contacting us back. After about 2 months our two middles started waking up every morning with a bad headache. They started to get really pail & had dark circles around their eyes. I knew the mold wasn’t gone. I pack up the 5 kids again & moved back in with my friend & her 2 girls. We finally got ahold of the owner of the company & he said he would personally fly from Washington to California to come look at our house & retreat it as he was a strong believer in the product & the guy before must have not done the job correctly. I thought we’d just be out of the house for a few more weeks. Well was I so wrong. He came & inspected all around our home & sure enough all underneath our house ( we have a manufactured home) is full of mold. We had an inspection done prior to moving in & he mentions that there is some fungi & dry rot but that he didn’t see a big issue. That we could get another 6 years out of our siding. They didn’t inspect the other side of our home & that was a bigger problem. So fogging our home wouldn’t help until we got all of the things taken care of on the outside & under our home. We can’t file another mold claim on our house because we just had one & not to mention it wouldn’t cover how much it would cost to fix everything & retreat & do all the things. After we figured out the bigger problem we then had to figure out what we could do with our 4 dogs, 5 chickens & 2 pigs so my husband can get out of the house because he wasn’t feeling good at all. We have all our animals either rehoused or staying with family while we stay with my friend. I fortunately watch her girls for her while she works so I can pay for rent for 2 of her rooms. Our home is currently in limbo as we are trying to figure that all out while we still pay for all of those bills. I took a break from seeing my naturopath as nothing was helping me & I wasn’t seeing any results & financially wasn’t able to keep up with it. I started to see Aubree about 2 months ago & she has tried to make my appointments not so expensive for me & trying all she can to help me feel better. I am still very sick & have had a lot of trouble getting the mold out of my system & for my supplements to start helping me because my body is so overloaded with toxins. My husband is the only one that brings money in & his job isn’t offering for him to make more money. We financially are struggling to keep afloat & just can’t afford to do all the care that I need to get better."
