Stand together to support Jillian (The Noisy Plume) & Fam.

As you may know, our dear Jillian, also known as The Noisy Plume, was in a horse wreck early this August. She was riding cross country when her mare reared up and went over backwards onto Jillian, crushing her with her full weight of 1000 lbs.

Jillian somehow instinctively pushed her body to the side as she watched her horse and saddle coming down to crush her from above and was extra fortunate when her horse rolled off her in a direction that did not crush her more, Flipping a horse like this is a deathwish and any horseman's nightmare and usually, if a rider survives this type of wreck, they suffer a crushed pelvis and/or severe head trauma and spine trauma. Jillian is deeply grateful she suffered four broken ribs and intense bruising on the entire left side of her body as well as the lateral injuries of a broken left arm and a fractured and dislocated finger on her right hand.

Most importantly and most miraculously, she was almost six months pregnant at the time and her belly and pelvis went totally untouched in the accident -- her baby is stable and healthy due to mama’s speedy instincts and maybe some angels. This baby is meant to be born and in this difficult time Jillian already can recognize this child will be one of her greatest teachers in life.

The accident has required 2 surgeries on her left arm and right hand and she has already started her physiotherapy to regain use of her fingers, hands, wrists and left arm.

Besides being a silversmith, Jillian and her husband farm garlic to scale in Idaho and the accident happened during the busiest part of their growing season leaving them short handed and in extreme need of help. Their neighbors, church and local friends cooked and delivered meals to their farm for the first couple weeks after the accident. Friends and family continue to travel from Montana, Washington, Wyoming, Oregon, California, New Mexico and Saskatchewan to help out on the farm, drive Jillian to and from doctor and physio appointments, help care for their two year old daughter, help with the household work, process garden and orchard harvests, and everything else Jillian and Robert are unable to manage on their own at the moment.

It has been an extremely difficult time for Jillian and Robert but also an incredibly rich time -- as Jillian's broken bones mend the healing process is also knitting her family and friends closer together and Jillian ultimately feels nothing but absolute gratitude for this difficult experience -- it has been a dreadfully painful but beautiful time of deep personal growth and she treasures the memories she has made with friends and family during her recovery. She will never forget calling out for help in a desperate time and seeing her people show up for her family and farm to serve with full hearts and unwavering joy. She is slowly being healed by love, the best medicine of all.

The costs of this accident are many. There are, of course, unexpected and steep medical bills for the surgeries and doctor’s visits and the loss of income while Jillian is away from the jewelry bench for an indeterminate time -- all necessary to heal and recover the function and mobility in her beautiful hands. She is hoping to return to work late this fall if her hands allow but will continue to slow down as she nears the end of her pregnancy and prepares to labor her baby into this amazing world in early December. She will then be out of her studio through the first part of 2026 while she settles into life with two little ones under the age of four. This will be the longest time frame she's spent out of her studio in 18 years of work and the repercussions will be significant.

She needs help and we want to help -- we know that we are not alone in this. This Go Fund Me has been set up for those of you who want to help but do not have the ability to offer help in the form of a physical presence on the farm in Idaho. We are reaching out to Jillian's beloved community, welcoming help on her behalf, to ease the burden of this little family.

Together, our combined contributions will provide assistance for this family, cover some of their sizeable health insurance deductible, ease the financial worry from the loss of income, facilitate the rest and recovery needed after Jillian’s accident, and allow Jillian to take a proper maternity leave after baby’s arrival in December supporting the blossoming of this three person family into a family of four.

Every donation, no matter the amount, carries the strength of our collective love for Jillian and her family. If you're unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign is just as meaningful.

Thank you for standing with us and expressing your love and support alongside us.
