Help Jill with medical bills on her way to recovery.

Jill Larsen Anderson

On Friday February 9th Jill was rushed to the ER in Bemidji. Jill had not felt well for the previous couple of days but at first it wasn't anything concerning. Then, suddenly her condition changed, and her husband quickly rushed her to the hospital. When Jill arrived at the ER, she tested positive for Influenza B, double Pneumonia and an UTI. Jill was already in septic shock when she arrived. Jill was immediately admitted to the ICU on a ventilator and placed into a medically induced coma. It was evident according to the lab results she had suffered an acute kidney injury as a result of the sepsis. The physicians felt she should be transferred to Duluth since Duluth offered a slower type of dialysis called CRRT. CRRT is the preferred treatment for someone who is acutely critically ill. On Monday February 12th Jill was flown by helicopter from Bemidji to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
Jill's journey continued for the next 4 weeks on the ventilator with many ups and downs. She did need to have a tracheotomy placed in hopes to wean her off the vent. It was a slow, day to day and sometimes hour to hour recovery complicated from other infections that took advantage of her weakened physical state.
After 5 weeks, Jill was gradually responding to treatment. The physicians had informed family that her body would be in a deconditioned state meaning she would have lost muscle tone and be weak. It was then decided Jill would need to go to a hospital that could provide her with physical and occupational therapy. So on Tuesday March 19th she was transported by ambulance from Duluth to Fargo. The next couple of weeks Jill continued to improve.
Jill and her husband (Jason) have four children, an adult daughter and three little boys. Jill's determination to get back home to her family is what has kept her focused and has given her the strength to push forward in her healing process.
Jill is so grateful for her family and friends for all their love and concern during this time.
After the lengthy hospital stays the medical bills are adding up quickly. This Go Fund Me page has been set up to help Jill and her family with increasing medical costs. We are asking those reading this will share with family and friends in donating however much that you can. Any donation will be gratefully appreciated.
