Help Jill Recover after the Altadena Fire

Donation protected

My sister lost her beautiful craftsman house and everything she owns and has collected over the years in the tragic Altadena fire early Wednesday morning. She left with the clothes on her back and her 3 cats.

Jill is currently safe and staying with me and Nick. She is in shock, as the scope of her loss is hard to comprehend. While Jill has a place to stay, she needs help with the basic necessities to rebuild her life. She has lost everything.

Jill was a dedicated LAUSD high school English teacher for 27 years. She loved her job and her students and has forged bonds that have lasted long after she retired.

During the pandemic, Jill lost her husband and best friend, Rich. Her house was always her sanctuary, but after Rich’s passing, it became more of an anchor as it contained all the memories and mementos of her lifetime with friends, family, and Rich.

Jill’s home was like a curiosity shop. She was an avid collector of folk art, pottery, mid-century modern and craftsman furniture. She had a huge library of rare and out of print books which she was always happy and proud to share with others.

Unfortunately, Jill lived alone and never received an evacuation notice. She left with her pets and a change of clothes, as she thought she would be returning home.

Any donation will make an impactful difference as Jill, once again, recreates her life. We realize that she is now part of a larger community of loss. If you are unable to assist Jill, please make a donation of time, resources or money to help the survivors of these horrific fires.

Thank you so much,

Sunni & Nick
