Today, I share with you a story not just of challenge, but of the enduring spirit of a remarkable woman—my mother, Jill Martinez Volovar. For those who know Jill, you recognize her as a pillar of strength and generosity, always the first to offer help. Jill has always lived by a simple creed: to make everyone around her happy and ensure they have enough. Out of the kindness of her heart, she has selflessly served others, asking for nothing in return. Now, it is she who faces a formidable challenge.

Life presented Jill with a stark trial: Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a relentless blood cancer. This diagnosis has thrust her into a battle that demands not only her unwavering courage but also rigorous medical treatment far from our home in Miami. Jill will be unable to work through this whole process, and she will need to relocate to MD Anderson in Texas, necessitating payment for housing in the immediate vicinity of the hospital as well as covering substantial hospital bills.

As Jill braces for chemotherapy and a hopeful bone marrow transplant, the financial and emotional tolls are immense. We are reaching out to you, our extended family, to help Jill in her time of need.
