Help Jill & her kids get back on the road

First let me start off by saying that I am embarrassed, crushed and humbled to even have to make this, but I am at a point where I don’t know what else to do and have explored every other Avenue.

I’ve prided myself as an only parent, who works a fulltime job and works hard in order to take care of myself and my children. We’ve never lived extravagantly nor do we do things like go on vacation every summer, or go here or there nor do we buy the latest video game system or phone or sneakers, but, even if it was only by a hair, I’ve been able to take care of the essential bills, keep food in their bellies, clothes on their backs and pay for things like school stuff, registration and equipment fees for their sports or extra curricular activities, gas and car note and so on.

Unfortunately with inflation and unforeseen bills, emergencies and health issues, financially I’m in a bad spot.

Recently my car (which I still have 14 months of payments on) broke down. I have had the car for 4 years, and was never even late on a payment prior till now. It’s nothing glamorous, a 2013 Honda CRV., but it does it’s job of allowing me to work, get my kids to 2 different schools, take them to practices and games and Girl Scout meetings, go to doctors etc.

6 weeks ago as I was driving it began to sputter and then smoke came billowing out the back, and it died. I had a nightmare of a time finding a mechanic to even look at it bc they were all “backed up”. I had it towed to one place and after 2 weeks they said they couldn’t do it.

It took 1 week to find another place, and again it sat for 10 days before being looked at. It needs some work done to get up and running, then additional work to pass inspection. Plus the actual inspection and emission.

On top of it I have a hefty rental car fee for all the weeks of needing rental car which is an out of pocket expense not covered at all by insurance since it wasn’t a “claim”

It’s out of desperation at this point to even make this gofundme. I’m use to being the one to help people and don’t like asking for help, especially financially.
