Help Jill Get a Roof Over Her Head (Best Birthday Gift Ever?

Donation protected
Hey everyone, Katie here!

So, you know how people say "don't get me anything for my birthday", but they don't really mean it? Well, our friend Jill's birthday is coming up, and she actually meant it this year - but for reasons that are way less fun than minimalism or Marie Kondo vibes.

Here's What's Up:

Jill is genuinely one of the best humans I know, but life has been life-ing lately, and she is currently dealing with housing insecurity on top of all the craziness with her health all this year. Not exactly the birthday situation anyone wants.

Instead of pretending everything's fine or watching them stress through what should be a celebration, I asked if I could set this up.

After some convincing (because Jill is stubborn about asking for help), here we are.

The Real Talk:

We're trying to raise funds for:

  • Security deposit: $1,500
  • First month's rent: $1,500
  • Moving costs: $500
  • Total Goal: $3,500

We all know the costs of securing housing in the Bay Area is brutal - and then there is Pet Rent, Application fees, buying some old crappy stuff off of Facebook Marketplace - it adds up.

Why I'm Actually Doing This:

Look, Jill has been the friend who shows up. The one who talks you through a nervous breakdown, cleans your house when you just can’t, dogsits, and always travels to see you (you know, the precariously housed part). They deserve a stable place to call home, and honestly? We could all use a win right now.

How You Can Help (No Pressure Though):

  • Throw in whatever you can - seriously, $5 buys a coffee, but here it actually helps

  • Share this with literally anyone who might know Jill or just feels like being nice today

  • Drop a birthday message with your donation - Jill could use some good vibes

And hey, if you can't donate, that's totally fine. Times are weird for everyone.
Let's make this birthday about community showing up, because adulting is hard enough without doing it alone.

Thanks for being awesome,

❤️ Katie

P.S. - Jill, I know you're going to read this and feel some type of way about it, but too bad. Love you, deal with it.p
