Help Jill Fight Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer

Donation protected
My beautiful mama, Jill, has been diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Due to a rare genetic condition, many standard treatments are dangerous for her, and she requires costly specialty care to address her unique needs. Even though I’m currently working three jobs, as her only child I'm struggling to cover her medical and living expenses. I'm seeking your support to help my mom in a meaningful and material way, to give her the best chance of beating this that I can.

In August 2025, Jill was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Her treatment needs are complex, as she has a genetic condition that makes most standard medications toxic rather than healing. This means her care requires specialists who can guide her medical team in designing safe and effective treatment plans, ordering specialized testing, and determining supportive therapies — expertise that is rare, expensive, and difficult to access.

One of Jill's favorite things is sunshine, and that's exactly what she's been to me and all those whose lives she’s touched. Known for her big smile and warm heart, she’s always placed the happiness of family, friends, and loved ones before her own. Unfortunately her savings were exhausted on medical necessities, leading to financial hardship and ultimately the loss of her beloved home of 60+ years. For far too long, she has endured painful health conditions and outcomes, the result of delayed care due to cost. All of this has further compounded her health challenges.

Beyond her health struggles, she has missed out on the simplest dreams many might take for granted: family holidays together, a small house to call home again, a garden to tend in the sunshine, a trusty golden retriever by her side.

Friends of mine know my mom for her talent and passion for fashion design and sewing. For me, this has meant a lifetime of wearing dresses lovingly made by my her hands. This creative outlet — such a vital part of who she is — has also been put on hold until she is well enough to sew again.

Jill has been dealt tough cards her entire life: painful chronic autoimmune conditions, multiple botched medical procedures, and discouraging prognoses. But she has never allowed this to define her, and she has always defied the odds. Decades ago, doctors told her certain conditions she had would never heal — and she has proved them wrong, time and again. I believe this time will be no different.

She is the strongest person I know, and I am so proud to be her daughter.

I work seven days a week to ensure she receives the best care possible, but I have not been able to come close to covering everything she needs. At the same time, I’ve been struggling to manage my own painful chronic health condition, which has made it harder to troubleshoot all of this, both physically and financially. Our respective health circumstances and my working arrangements have kept us living miles - and states - apart. It has been the hardest decision to not be by her side, but knowing how critical financing her care is, I'm making every effort to work as many hours as I can squeeze into a day. Despite this, I am falling short. Knowing her specialized care options are limited by cost is unbearable. Asking for help doesn’t come easy, but after much reflection, and doing everything I can, I know I can’t do this alone.

This is why I am reaching out to you — our community of friends, family, and caring strangers. Sometimes it takes a village.

Your donations will go directly toward:

  • Specialized medical consultations and treatment
  • Supplementation and therapies tailored to her genetic needs
  • Living expenses so she can focus on healing without the stress of bills
  • Support for a safe, nurturing environment where she can recover

No amount is too small. Every dollar, prayer, and share of this page helps lift the burden and brings us closer to providing Jill with all the love, care, and peace of mind she is worthy of.

Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for holding Mama in your hearts and prayers during this difficult chapter.

With all my love and gratitude,
Andrea (Jill’s daughter)
