Hi! I’m Jill and I have ovarian cancer. I was lucky to be diagnosed when I was, because it doesn’t appear to have spread yet, but we’ll know more about the exact stage when I have my surgery to remove the tumor.

What we do know right now is that surgery and chemotherapy are expensive, my husband is out of work, and I do not have short term disability coverage. What this means is that even though I will not lose my job while I am recovering from surgery and chemo, I will also not be getting paid, and I will be responsible for my own health insurance premiums that normally come out of my paycheck. If I fail to pay one of these, I am in danger of losing my coverage just when I need it most.

This is why I am turning to crowdfunding. It’s not ideal, but if we can get any amount of help, it may just get us through this crisis.
