Help Jill Beat Stage IV Stomach Cancer

Jill's Story
During the 2018 holiday season, my sister-in-law, Jill McClain, was diagnosed with Stage IV gastric (stomach) cancer.  Since that time, she and her husband, along with their two young children have had their world turned upside down. Their normal day-to-day routine of going to school, work, play dates, family events, loving snuggles, and carefree giggles have been replaced with bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments, endless doctor appointments, scans, tests, hospital stays and some days of complete isolation.  Although each day brings new obstacles, my brother, Derek, and Jill have chosen faith to be more powerful than fear, and continue to look for the positives within each day.  They are especially grateful for the tremendous support from their caring friends and family.  We're all working together to fight this terrible disease and develop a new normal.

How You Can Help
With the loss of Jill's income, increasing medical bills and the challenging needs of their two children, ages 2 and 5, the financial circumstances are a cause for high stress. Therefore,  I invite you to contribute to lessening that worry by using the donate now button on this GoFundMe page. The set goal will be a significant help in meeting their monthly family living expenses for this next year.

If we can erase some of the burdens of these expenses for one year, then we can allow Jill and Derek to focus on creating more family memories, while seeking the best treatment possible.  Your generosity will make a tremendous difference to their family.

If you know Jill and Derek, you know they always want to help others and rarely expect anything in return. I am now asking you, who might have been touched by their story, to please lift them up during this difficult time.

Your generosity is so appreciated and we feel that with this financial goal, we can truly help the McClain family.

Feel compelled to do even more?
In addition to making a financial contribution, you're invited to join team #Relay4Jill .   This simply means that you commit to sharing this cause on social media (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) for one week out of the year by selecting 1 of the 2 options below.  There will be one designated person to represent each week, however, we'd love to see your posts all year long.

Here are your 2 options:

1. As some of you know, Jill is dedicated to posting 1 positive thought per day on Facebook as she battles this horrible disease.  Could you commit to doing the same thing for 1 week?     Just share 1 positive from each day along with a link to this GoFundMe page using the hashtag #Relay4Jill on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

2. Derek remains dedicated to exercise as his "therapy" during this difficult time.  Could you use this cause to help motivate yourself and others to exercise?  If so, just share your workout progress for 1 week using the hashtag #Relay4Jill as inspiration with a link back to this GoFundMe page.

How to Sign Up
If you want to join the #Relay4Jill team, please go to this Google spreadsheet for additional instructions and to get on the official schedule!  When it's your week, we will send you an official #Relay4Jill baton to include in any pictures you might share on social media.  When your week is complete, we'll work with you to pass the baton on to the next person (just like a real relay team).

Thank you all &  God Bless!
