Help Jiandan Heal and find housing
Donation protected
I'm Jiandan 'JD' Janet Payza, (62 y.o.), and I'm facing the tough challenge of losing my housing ( eviction from my apt. ) and chronic illness. As many of you know, after getting a severe case of Covid at work in January 2020, I continued to have debilitating symptoms of post covid condition. ("long haulers"). It's left me disabled. I've been on short-term disability for the duration, but It was a hard pill to swallow when my long-term disability application was denied for a second time. My hearing to appeal this decision will take 7-12 months. Receiving early retirement will take four months or more. I will be without income as my short-term disability ends at the end of March, and my savings are exhausted. Due to my high rent, I need to move.
I was recently diagnosed with a rare and incurable disease Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, a combination of symptoms of several autoimmune diseases. I tried to return to work, but I could not because my lungs no longer function at total capacity in addition to many other everchanging symptoms. I lost three jobs due to my condition in the past year. I feel extremely exhausted all the time.
I can no longer do what I did pre-Covid, like roller skating on the boardwalk and boogie boarding. Now I am challenged taking care of household and personal care and need a personal home aid. My doctor told me that he cannot promise my conditions will ever resolve. Hearing that I'm 'permanently disabled' after two years of testing has brought me to my knees. There are no known treatments of long-haul Covid since it's so new.
Funds will be used for medical bills, alternative medications and treatment methods (i.e., acupuncture) moving and living expenses. There is a Post-Covid Rehabilitation Program I would like to attend, and I look forward to some compassionate treatment and specialists who understand Long Haul Covid.
This has been my darkest period, and I've had to face it alone. So I'm reaching out now with the belief that some of you will be able to brighten my path ahead. With the support and strength from my family and friends, I've made it through this far; I'm rediscovering hope that I thought was gone. I appreciate your help more than you know and hope for more healing so I can live my best possible life journey. Thank you!
