Our Story: Help Save My Wife’s Smile & Health

My wife Jiana hasn’t felt herself for months. She’s always been resilient, but lately she’s been in constant pain and increasingly unwell. We spent weeks seeing different doctors, hoping for answers. What they finally found was devastating: a fractured tooth erupted, setting off a severe infection that spread throughout the right side of her face, up into her sinus cavity, and deep through her gums and the roots of her teeth.

The infection is so advanced that antibiotics can’t reach all of it. It’s been growing for a long time, and now the only way to stop it is with major surgery. If Jiana doesn’t receive treatment, the infection will likely cause extreme bone loss and severe dental damage. Even worse, if the infection moves into her bloodstream, it could become life-threatening.

We met with an expert periodontist who laid out a treatment plan and cost estimate. Jiana needs urgent surgical removal of infected tissue, extractions, and several dental implants to restore her mouth and protect her health. The initial surgery alone costs $15,986. She’ll also need four implants at $2,782 each ($11,128 total), and we’re rounding up to $28,000 to cover prescriptions and unexpected expenses.

None of this is covered by insurance, even though her doctors say it must happen quickly to prevent disaster. After 26 years together, I can’t bear the thought of losing Jiana to something so preventable. Watching her suffer while I struggle to pull together the funds has been crushing. The 3D printed cosplay business we've run for years took a big hit recently, and I’ve picked up part-time work just to help, but we’re nowhere near what’s needed.
