Jewel came into my life in October 2025, when she was just a tiny puppy. I found her after she had been thrown out of a car at only two months old. Without hesitation, I rescued her from the street before she could be hurt any further. Since then, I have been caring for her and fostering her, and she has become a sweet, loving companion who cuddles with me every night. I named her Jewel because she is truly precious and valuable to me, and I feel safe with her sleeping in my room. I love her deeply and am committed to caring for her as long as I am blessed to have her.
Last Saturday night, I came home from work and found Jewel in terrible pain, drooling and panting on the couch. She was hot to the touch, and when I checked her, I discovered a large chunk of skin had been torn from her stomach and leg. I immediately called our local emergency vet, but they were too busy to see her and advised me to rush her to EmergeVet in Rancho Cucamonga. When we arrived, the vets rushed out to help and took her straight back for treatment. Jewel needed stitches, staples, draining tubes, antibiotics, and pain medication. I spent the entire night at the emergency vet, not getting her home until 5 am. Her life was spared, but now I am facing a significant vet bill.
I am reaching out for help to cover Jewel’s emergency medical expenses and to give her the best chance at a full recovery. Any support for Jewel’s recovery would mean the world to us. Thank you for caring about her story and helping us through this difficult time.
