What makes this story even more complicated is that this abuser is a police officer.
On 12/21/25, 15 days ago, Jewel had the courage to leave… again. This is her third attempt to leave. Here is the history:
• 1st Time She Left: 2022 - He shoved her to the ground outside of their home. Ran inside with their son and locked her out of their home. She called the police but in the end she was asked to leave the home without her baby. She moved out with her parents. He gave her access to her baby after an exchange of money.
• 2nd Time She Left: 2024 - He was being investigated by CPS for physical violence with both Jewel and their oldest son. The case was dropped due to lack of evidence. He blamed her for the investigation and became extremely volatile in the home. Jewel moved out and into an apartment.
• 3rd Time She Left: CURRENT - December 2025
He became angry and began creating a fraudulent crime scene in their home, deleted text threads, removed all access to money, attempted to frame assault. Police report.
Since jewel left, he has removed all access to money for herself and her two children. He has also removed access to the home. She needs a lawyer ASAP. She doesn’t have access to money. This is why we need your help.
He has access to money… so yes, he has a lawyer already. Jewel was served papers on Saturday 1/3/26 with a court date on 1/14/26.
Jewel has tried to leave several times. Her husband has been physically abusive, emotionally abusive, and financially abusive. In November Jewel left her full time job at UNT Health due to the children needing a parent at home more. All of her earned money has gone into their joint checking account. As soon as Jewel left he removed access to the family credit card and all available funds have been transferred out of the joint account to his personal account.
*Sometimes he puts $50 in there but that’s maybe good for 1 formula or 1-2 diaper packages. Not enough for food, gas, lawyer, diapers, wipes, toiletries…
Jewel has gone to domestic violence places for guidance, Goodwill for clothes, and has had family help with food and shelter.
She has submitted a protective order but will need intensive legal help to get through this. She also needs financial help to be able to feed her kids and hopefully establish a new safe home for the 3 of them.
He has been emotionally, physically, and financially abusive and is currently trying to frame her with mental illness. She does not have mental illness and has regular doctors visits that show proof of no mental illness. He is a police officer and crime scene investigator, so he knows how to do this well. We need help from anybody our family has ever crossed paths with, whether it be just a few dollars or a character witness if you know her well. This was not easy to make public, but we do hope it helps anybody in a similar situation to have the courage to break free. We couldn't be more proud of Jewel!
