A dear friend of mine Dagoberto came to me in hopes of finding ways to help his nephew in Honduras with a heart condition that requires medical attention. Dagoberto has always been so helpful and kind to me and I felt much gratitude when I had the pleasure of meeting his family when they had visited the United States. On behalf of Dagoberto and his genuine family, I decided to start this page in hopes of raising funds for his nephew and family while they endure this difficult time. Here is his nephew’s story...
Hello, my name is Jesús Danilo Bulnes Castillo, I am 16 years old and I live in Comayagua, Honduras.
About a month ago, my life changed suddenly. I fainted and experienced a syncope, and doctors later diagnosed me with Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia (PSVT), a heart rhythm disorder that causes my heart to beat extremely fast without warning.
Since that day, life has been very different. I live with the constant fear that my heart may suddenly start racing again and that I could faint at any moment. The anxiety is difficult, but at the same time I feel grateful because God keeps me alive and gives me strength every day.
Doctors have recommended a specialized cardiac procedure to treat my condition. The procedure would take place at HM Montepríncipe University Hospital in Spain and would be performed by Jesús Almendral, a highly respected specialist in heart rhythm disorders.
The cost of the treatment and related medical expenses is approximately $20,000, which is very difficult for my family to afford.
I am currently a student at Building Minds School in Comayagua, and despite everything I am going through, I still hold on to my dreams. My biggest dream is to become a cardiologist specialized in electrophysiology, so that one day I can help people with heart rhythm problems, especially young people like me.
I don’t want anyone to feel the fear I felt when my heart suddenly failed.
My family and I are very worried because we know my condition could cause another episode at any time. But we also have strong faith in God and hope in the kindness of others.
That is why today we humbly ask for your help. Any donation, no matter the amount, will bring me closer to receiving the treatment I need so I can live without fear and continue pursuing my dream of helping others.
