Help Jesús Breathe Freely: Support His Surgery

When Jesús was just 6 months old, his tiny body was hit by a severe case of pneumonia. It was so serious that he had to be intubated and spend 15 long days in the intensive care unit. That experience left more than just memories — it caused damage to his trachea.

Since then, for the past two years, Jesús has lived with a tracheostomy — a small opening in his neck that connects directly to his lungs and allows him to breathe and get the oxygen he needs.

Today, at three years and three months old, Jesús is full of life and deserves the chance to grow up without a tube in his neck. But for that to happen, he needs a surgery called tracheoplasty. This delicate operation involves removing the damaged part of his trachea and reconnecting the healthy ends. It’s a crucial step to finally remove the tracheostomy so Jesús can breathe, speak, and live like any other child his age.

Cuando Jesús tenía apenas 6 messes de nacido, su pequeño cuerpo fue afectado por una neumonía severa. Fue tan grave que tuvo que ser intubado y permanecer en la unidad de cuidados intensivos durante 15 largos días. Esa experiencia le dejó más que recuerdos: le causó un daño en la tráquea.
