Help Jessie & Sophie support the Afghan Refugees

Hi Everyone

Our names are Jessie Dein and Sophie Reiss. We are 12 years old and we will both be celebrating our Bat Mitzvahs a week apart this December 2021. We feel extremely fortunate to have loving families, a warm home and all the food and comforts that we need. We were really so shocked recently to see what has been happening in Afghanistan. Our mums explained properly to us how desperate some of these people must have been to flee their homes and country without their belongings to find safety in a foreign land. Many children our age have arrived in the UK with nothing and are shocked and scared. We wanted to do something for charity leading up to our Bat Mitzvahs and we feel very strongly about trying to help these children in whatever way we can. We are asking for all of you, our lovely family and friends to help by donating money so we can buy the things they so badly need to feel settled here. It will cost us around £20 to put together a support pack for each child. We are working with a wonderful charity called Sebby's Corner who have given us lists of what the children need most. We will be going out with our mums to source these items and we will put together the support packs ourselves. We will work with Sebby's Corner who are also working with the Red Cross to hand these packs out to children like us, but whom are in desperate need in and around London.
