Help Jessie (single mom) Get a Car

Hi, I'm Lauren, and I'm raising money for my dear friend Jessie, who was in a car accident this morning.

Luckily, she is not injured -- just has a few scrapes and bruises. Her car, however, is totaled. It was the bestest little Toyota Prius that fit her yogi/urban mom personality to a T, AND she had paid it off. If you've ever paid off a car before, you know how much of a relief it is.

For Jessie, not having that car payment looming over her head made room for her to provide for her 2.5 year old daughter, Domino.

Domino is an incredibly intelligent, spunky, silly, and caring little girl. Jessie is a dedicated, hardworking single mom, providing for her and raising her on one small income. I help her as much as I can by babysitting this little cutie twice a week, and I know she has other friends and family members who also provide as much help as they can. However, helping her get a car is a much larger problem that the few of us can't solve alone.

As I said before, Jessie's car is totaled. She doesn't have another car or any other means of transportation. Public transportation in our area is very limited and is therefore not a viable option. She had bare minimum liability insurance because her budget didn't allow for anything else, so she will not receive any money for her car from an insurance company. Additionally, that will not provide coverage for a rental car. According to her, her savings account balance is at an all time low. She is, unfortunately, out of options.

It was my (Lauren's) idea to start this GoFundMe page on Jessie's behalf. She knows I am making the page but has asked not to be a part of it, because she's humble and sweet and doesn't like having to ask for help. She has been my dear friend for the past 5 years, and I've seen her go through A LOT. She has been through the ringer lately, and I couldn't think of anyone more deserving of this. Of transportation. Of GIVING. Because she gives with all her heart, every single day, to her daughter, and to the community surrounding her.

Please, help me give back to her. Let's get Jessie a car!!!
