Help Jessie Set Sail Again

Ahoij,

A sailor’s worst nightmare came true after Storm Eowyn’s 180km/h gusts heartbreakingly demasted my 36ft ketch ‘Jessie’, shattering my dreams of sailing the world on her.

Thankfully mast and sails were heroically retrieved by the best hands I could have possibly wished for, preventing further destruction, but the extend of the damage is far too great to fix myself.

She needs a new (or used) mast, standing rigging as well as extensive fibreglass work to be seaworthy again.⛵️

My ears have certainly encountered the words ‘Give up on her and just buy new boat’.

Sailor or not, I firmly believe every boat has a soul and I am hence determined I hold enough stubbornness, willpower and vision to get her back on the water.
