Hello. I am Shelley Whiffen, a friend of Jessie’s mom since before Jessie Russell was born.

We are fundraising to help Jessie, the daughter of Jeff and Natasha Russell, to be able to seek medical attention in Europe to obtain a cardiac diagnosis and possible treatment.

On New Year's Eve of 2015 at the age of eight, Jessie had a cardiac arrest. She was flown to IWK, where she began her complex recovery journey. The problem with her heart is believed to be genetic in nature with no confirmed diagnosis. To date she has had 30 heart surgeries, trying to manage her condition and many hospital admissions with many complications.

This consultation and possible treatment in Europe are her last hope for a diagnosis and chance at effective treatment/management of her heart condition. The world-renowned cardiac specialist with exceptional qualifications, has agreed to see her Jessie but the financial burden is far beyond what her family can manage.

All proceeds from this fundraising will go directly to cover these medical fees in England.
