Hello!
This year has been hard and weird but also has given me some time to put things in perspective.
In February I had to flee Arkansas because my living situation was unsafe. I had wiped out my savings to get there so essentially all I could do was pack up what I could in my Kia Soul and leave. Luckily over the past two months I found a soft place to land in Milwaukee and have had time think about things that I want and need as I move into the future.
I have a disorder that affects my joints called: Ehlers-Danlos. As I've gotten older it makes winter more difficult. I truly feel it in my body in a way that's hard to explain to people. I realized that I need to live somewhere that doesn't have the extreme winters my beloved Chicago has.
I have secured a three month sublet in LA starting in July and then will hopefully be able to find a place and get my stuff shipped to me from Arkansas come October.
This year has been hard on everyone I know. Truly my mantra for the year has been: Everything is hard for everyone all the time.
With this money I am hoping to:
Be able to pay the sublet as I look for a teaching job/students in LA.
Have a few months of my car payment saved.
Have money for gas/stops as I make my way out to LA.
Finish paying off a credit card that I used for an emergency oral surgery.
Pay to have two cysts removed before I leave Chicago.
Honestly, this support will mean the world to me as I come out of the fog of this year and transition to a new city.
Love to you all,
Jessie
