Jesse Ragsdale is going to have surgery on Dec. 3, 2019 for a below the knee amputation of his right leg. On February 11, 2016 at 10:30p.m. Jesse was pulling into our driveway on his motorcycle when he was hit by an uninsured S.U.V. going 35 m.p.h. without the headlights on. He spent the following 2 months in the hospital recovering from a severe traumatic brain injury, multiple skull fractures, a hairline fracture to his pelvis, a broken tibia, a broken fibia, and the degloving of the flesh to his bone of his right heal. He was transported via life flight to Salt Lake, where a team of plastic surgeons performed a transplant from his left thigh to create a new heal for him.         Unfortunately, in June of this year, after a biopsy, Jesse found out that the pain he has been suffering from is a result of a festering infection of 3 different bacterium. In an attempt to beat these infections, he underwent treatment via a pick line of antibiotics. Unfortunately the infection has gone into his bone and he is now at risk of the infection travelling further into his body and entering his bloodstream among other complications. To prevent further destruction to Jesse's tissue and improve his quality of life in the future, he will now undergo surgery to amputate below the knee.           As a result of the many complications he has suffered from the accident, Jesse is under doctors order not to work and in the process of applying for disability, creating financial hardship for him and his family. Following amputation, Jesse will need to pay to stay in a hotel in order to properly recover and reduce the risk of further infection and more amputation, as his living arrangements aren't ideal.
