On April 18th, between 11 pm and midnight, our lives changed forever. My family and I had just moved into our new home two weeks earlier, finally finding a place that felt perfect for us. That night, we left briefly to take a puppy to the emergency vet, never imagining what we would return to. While we were gone, a heating lamp we used for our ten newborn puppies caught fire. Tragically, all but one of the puppies did not survive. The loss of those tiny lives, who were so loved and only three days old, has left us heartbroken and grieving.
The fire caused the most damage to my mom’s room, but the rest of the house is filled with smoke damage. We are now staying in a hotel, praying for the chance to go back home and trying to process the trauma of what happened. It’s hard to put into words how much pain and loss we feel, not just for our home but for the puppies we cherished. Moving into this house was a huge step for us, and to have it taken away so suddenly is devastating.
We are determined to repair our home and return to the place we love. Even if the homeowners do not have insurance, we refuse to let this home go to waste. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean more than anything to us. This is the hardest thing our family has ever faced, and your kindness, support, or even just sharing our story would help us more than words can say. Thank you for being here for us.
