Hello, all! My name is Angela Putt, and I am a friend of Jessica and the Brooks family. If you know this family, you already know how incredibly special they are. But if you're landing here and meeting them for the first time, there are some things you need to know.

The Brooks family are all encompassing love. They're the kind of people who give the warmest embraces, who genuinely care about others, who encourage you to be your best self. They're a family who connects - with the adoption community, the foreign exchange student program, and the people they acquire through their various activities. They have known tremendous loss and tremendous joy. They are big on love and bigger on faith, and they're needing our help now.

At the end of July, Jessica was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. This week, we learned Jess's cancer has metastasized to her lungs, making this battle bigger than before. But with faith the size of a mustard seed, Jessica and her family are marching forward ready to take on this battle. And while we can't necessarily help with the battle, we CAN help monetarily.

Jessica's medical bills from various biopsies and scans are already adding up, and with six rounds of chemo ahead, they will continue to grow. They do have insurance, but not everything will be covered, and her treatment will span both the 2021 and 2022 calendar years, so they'll hit two deductibles. Her husband, Chris, will need extra time off work. There are added childcare and transportation needs now for their sweet boys Raiden and Jack and their exchange student Ludo. And of course, everyone still needs to eat!

So what I'm humbly asking you today is to donate to this family. Whether you can give $100 or $1, it will literally be appreciated and celebrated by everyone who knows and loves them. Maybe the Starbucks line was too long this morning, and you've got an extra $5 to spare. Or maybe you haven't been on vacation in two years and are looking for a great cause to donate a bit of that fund to. These are the people, people.
