Hi I'm Louise, one of Jess's friends. Jess would never ask for this but she would also be the first person I know to step up for someone in need. So I'm doing this on her behalf (with permission).

 

As we are all aware the pandemic has left many small businesses struggling. No amount of fiscal preparedness can make you ready for two years of a global pandemic...

 

Fitness studios have been particularly affected because of the need to restrict class sizes and the difficulty of generating revenue whilst also safeguarding community health. Because Movo & Jess have always committed to keeping our community safe - it has meant a lot of closures and lack of revenue over the last two years.

 

Movo studio is an incredible place. A lifelong dream realised. A safe space to move, to feel, to be welcome, to be in community. The toll of weathering the current financial climate has the studio on the brink of closure. Jess has tried everything she can to pivot and make things work despite challenging circumstances. It isn't enough though; she cannot turn this around through sheer determination - she needs our help.

 

I know that Jess has been moved by the outpouring of support for the studio since she made its troubles public. The words of encouragement, shares on social media, gift card giveaways, classes attended etc are all so appreciated.

 

I've set up this GoFundMe so that those who are far away or unable to attend classes can still support the studio & Jess. If we pool our resources, we can make a real difference. No amount is too small. Let's turn our pennies into miracles and support an independent, female-owned business in our community.
