Help Jessica Riddle Find Health Answers

Hello, my name is Kristen Riddle. My sister, Jessica Riddle, could really use your prayers and financial help. Currently, Jess is dealing with some health issues that began suddenly, but have quickly stripped her independence from her. For the last few months of 2024, Jess faced several random symptoms (fatigue, weight and hair loss, numbness/tingling in her legs and feet, loss of appetite, etc.) that she ignored and attributed to stress. In the beginning of this year, the symptoms lingered and our family, along with Jess, knew that it had to be something more severe. They began to affect her ability to work and complete normal chores/tasks at home. On January 20, 2025, I took Jess to a walk-in clinic in Wichita Falls. We told the nurse practitioner about her symptoms, and she immediately ordered Jess' blood work. The following day, Jess returned to the clinic to complete the labs. On January 22nd, Jess received a phone call from the clinic telling her that her hemoglobin was at a 4 (normal level for an adult female is 12-15), and she needed to go to the Emergency Room immediately for a blood transfusion. Throughout her time at the ER, they conducted several different scans and x-rays (CT scan, EKG, chest/abdomen x-ray, etc.) to find out where she was losing the blood, as it was nowhere external. Due to Jess needing at least 2 units of blood, the hospital needed to admit her in case there were any side effects of the transfusion. It took 4 units of blood to get her hemoglobin back to a more "normal" range. Jess remained in the hospital for 5 days following her visit to the ER during which they continued conducting more tests and labs, the most important of these being a bone marrow biopsy. The biopsy came back negative...by the grace of God. However, this leaves us back at square one with no answers and no leads as to what could be causing Jess' blood loss. She had a follow-up with United Regional's transition clinic, and was able to see the hematologist this week. They are still at a loss of where to go from here, and what medical concerns Jess is dealing with. She is going to be referred to a specialist in DFW soon.

Anyone who knows Jess knows that she is a hilarious, life-of-the-party, give you the shirt off of her back kind of human. She loves everyone so hard and always makes others feel welcome and safe. Throughout it all, Jess has remained strong and full of life, but I know the stress of it all is weighing on her. These health concerns are very sudden, and are affecting her physical well-being and day-to-day life greatly.

With all of this being said, Jess is uninsured. Medical bills are piling up quickly, and since she is out of work for the time being, she is unsure of how she is going to pay for the continued doctors visits on top of her hefty hospital bill. If you are able, any amount (no matter how big or small) helps so much. Even just sharing this post and Jess' story is so helpful. We are so appreciative of the continued prayers as we seek answers for her during this confusing time. If you made it this far, thank you for reading my sister's story. We are so blessed to be surrounded by loving and caring individuals. We know that God will provide answers in due time.
