My name is Jessica, and I’ve lost over 230 pounds through bariatric surgery and a complete lifestyle transformation. This journey has been nothing short of life-changing, and I’m deeply grateful for the improved health and new opportunities it has brought me.

However, with this incredible weight loss has come a significant challenge — the burden of excess skin. Despite the success of my health journey, I am now living with a substantial amount of loose skin that impacts my daily life in serious ways. It causes frequent rashes that often become open wounds, leading to infections, inflammation, and constant discomfort.

I recently consulted with a plastic surgeon who submitted a referral to my insurance for skin removal surgery. Unfortunately, the request was denied on the grounds that the procedure is not considered “medically necessary.” But as the physical evidence and medical symptoms clearly show, this excess skin is far more than a cosmetic issue.

I’m launching this GoFundMe campaign in the hope of raising the funds needed to have this surgery — not just for comfort or confidence, but for my health and quality of life.
