On July 31, I, Jessica Higgs, suffered an NSTEMI while at work, which changed everything for me and my husband, Reggie Higgs. The recovery was difficult, and just two months later, I lost vision in my right eye. I was diagnosed with uveitis and iritis, and the swelling and vision loss lasted until December before things finally improved. These health challenges made it impossible for me to return to work, and I lost my job as a result.

We’ve been struggling ever since. We got behind on our rent and are now facing homelessness unless we can get some sort of help. I tried going back to work after the NSTEMI, but my eye condition made it impossible to keep a job. We’ve spent months reaching out to local resources for assistance, but unfortunately, nobody has been able to help us.
