Help Jessica Recover from Dog Attack

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Braden Donovan, and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my wife, Jessica.

On Saturday, May 17th, what was supposed to be a joyful day turned into a nightmare. While attending a small family gathering, Jessica was unexpectedly attacked in the face by a Great Dane, one in which we knew very well. The incident happened suddenly and without warning. The only thing we are considering is if while she was petting the dog the owner shocked him. We found out after the incident the dog tried to attack another person a week prior.
She suffered multiple deep puncture wounds, including two bites that went entirely through her upper lip, along with several lacerations to her face. I rushed her to the emergency room, where she received urgent care, including stitches for fully penetrated puncture wounds and tears , a tetanus shot, and prescription antibiotics. She is now under close medical supervision and has follow-up appointments with a plastic surgeon.

Jessica is a devoted mother, nursing student, and teacher. She gives so much of herself to others every day. Now, as she heals from this trauma, she’s been placed on medical leave and cannot attend her clinical rotations or work due to the risk of infection and the need for recovery. Thankfully her school will work with her. Unfortunately, this means we are facing growing medical bills, transportation costs, and a loss of income—all while trying to support our children and keep life as normal as possible for them. With a high deductible and the owner not living in AZ and having no insurance or home or renters insurance help is minimal.
  • Medical bills and emergency services
  • Loss of income
  • Travel costs
  • Plastic surgeon for repair

We are humbly asking for help. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Jessica’s medical expenses, time off work, and the cost of ongoing treatment.

If you aren’t able to give right now, we understand—and simply sharing this with others would mean so much to us.

Thank you for your prayers, kindness, and support as our family navigates this incredibly difficult time.

With gratitude,
Braden Donovan
