Help Jessica receive treatment for TRD

Hi, my name is Jessica and I’ve been battling depression for the past 13 years, beginning at just 14 years old. Since then, I’ve seen several different therapists and have been on dozens of different medications, in addition to meeting with my psychiatrist and family practitioner. I’ve also been institutionalized 9 times, starting at 15 years old, with my most recent stay being last week.

Last week, at my most recent stay, I was diagnosed with TRD (Treatment Resistant Depression), meaning that medication would not be helpful and that I would need to seek alternative treatments.

Through research, I’ve found a few different options: Shock Therapy, TMS, and Low-Dose Ketamine Treatment. Due to time and travel constraints (treatment options only available on the Front Range and require daily treatment for 4-6 weeks), and consulting with my therapist, Low-Dose Ketamine is the treatment that I believe will work best for me.

Finally thankful to have found a treatment and plan to get myself better, I was hit with another setback when I found out my insurance refused to cover any of the cost.

This is why I’m here. Even with working full time, I don’t have the means to make that type of payment, despite how much I desperately need this treatment. I am trying to raise $3,600, which is the cost of 3 weeks of treatment, with 2 sessions a week ($600/session).

I didn’t want to ask for help. I still struggle with feeling like I should be able to “push through” or “tough it out,” but the truth is - mental health is health, and I deserve to get better.
