Our daughter, Jessica Rau Lasiter, has been battling a neurological condition for the past 11 years. Jessica is a 2010 graduate of
Mount Carmel Academy and attended St. Angela Merici from K-7.
This condition has now robbed her of her mobility. She is a young mother that wants to spend quality time with her son, husband and
family. She is receiving a power wheelchair to aid her in getting around. The wheelchair will allow her to get outside; however, we have no way to transport the large wheelchair intact and occupied for her comfort. Her care has been funded over the years by her family and
Jessica’s desire to find ways for her to earn money on an Etsy shop.
We hope to raise enough money to fund a vehicle, it’s operating cost and future medical needs. We have found a used vehicle that is
converted to her needs. She will be able to get to the ramp, roll into the vehicle and her wheelchair can be locked in at a passenger spot.
This would be life changing as she can comfortably transport to appointments and just out to spend time with family! Anything that you
can donate would be greatly appreciated!
Here is a little back story from Jessica's mother-in-law, Cindy (Lance's Mom).
My son’s wife, Jessica Rau Lasiter, has been struggling with a neurological disease since they were freshmen in college at LSU. Their story is a very special one. They fell in love their senior year, Lance playing football at Archbishop Rummel and Jessica on the dance team at
Mt. Carmel. They had so many hopes and plans but God had a different path for them. Jessica started with some neurological symptoms
their freshman year at LSU and has continued to struggle with worsening symptoms as the years went on. They had a fairytale wedding
where Lance carried Jessica down the aisle at St. Francis of Assisi. That was seven years ago. They now have a beautiful gift from God, my
grandson Jude. Jessica continues to struggle with diminished mobility. Jessica is in the process of receiving a new wheelchair but needs an accessible van for mobility. Lance hasn’t been able to work outside of the home since graduating from UNO with a double major in Biology and Chemistry due to his devotion and care of Jessica.
If you find it in your heart to help them they would be so appreciative. Thank you and God Bless.
It takes a village! God Bless.
Thank you
