Help Jessica Provide a Safe Haven for Donkeys
Tax deductible
Hello My Friend!
Jessica here, from Shiloh Farm Rescue.
I’M IN DESPERATE NEED OF YOUR HELP!
As you know, I own and run a farm rescue, concentrating on rescuing donkeys.
There are currently 14 donkeys at a kill lot in Asheboro.
This particular kill buyer buys equine >includes horses, donkeys & mules< from livestock auctions and ships them to slaughter in Mexico or Cananda. A group of volunteers try to re-home the equines before a deadline set by the kill buyer. If they don’t re-home them by the deadline, they ship, no matter what. The kill buyer is ruthless.
Just this morning, a mother donkey died at the kill lot, leaving her 4-month-old baby alone and struggling to survive. YES! You read that sentence correctly! A baby donkey is at the kill lot! How does a BABY end up at a kill lot?? I don’t have an answer for you, unfortunately.
BUT a question I can answer is, Can I provide a loving and safe home for this baby and any other donkey?
ABSOLUTELY!
But only with your help!
While the equines are at the kill lot, there is no shelter and the kill buyer only supplies round bales of hay, NO GRAIN AT ALL! On top of that, he only has 2 small paddocks for 50+ equine who fight over the hay and try to survive. I can’t imagine what that baby donkey is going through.
My funds are drastically low. I have 5 donkeys in my direct care at the moment, and I only have enough money to feed them for the next couple of months.
The rescue was doing ok for a little bit…until the hurricane hit. Donations started to dwindle as people were donating to western NC. I couldn’t blame them. I even made a small donation to help.
As I said at the beginning, I’M DESPERATE. Which is why I have emailed you.
I can’t sit and watch these poor donkeys struggle to survive. Times are tough, believe me I know.
These 14 donkeys are a mix of adult male, adult females and babies.
The funds needed to secure all 14 donkeys to my rescue is $7,355.
This doesn’t include transportation nor vet visits for a health check.
CAN YOU HELP ME? CAN YOU HELP SAVE THEIR LIVES?
Any amount of donation will help. My goal is at least the $7,355.
Please consider my request. Time is of the essence!
THANK YOU!
